comes out tomorrow, which will mean that @ least three veteran heavyweights -- Woodring, Daniel Clowes, Beto Hernandez -- will have released full-on comix novels in the first half of 2010. I was disappointed w/ both Clowes' Wilson and (to a lesser extent) Beto's Troublemakers, but what's interesting to me is that the weight of the whole comix world no longer rests on these guys' shoulders. I'm discovering new hot shots practically every week, and there's no down time to dwell on disappointment; it's embarrassing. Today I read Brandon Graham's King City for the first time. Last week it was Tsugumi Ohba & Takeshi Obata's Death Note. Ever feel old and like a babby at the same time?
Not to mention webcomix ... You got a month or six to spare?
